One of a kind, hand knitted Drops
Droplus sepium
The first Hedge Drop sighting of the year.
This little specimen was discovered amongst the heather and brambles on the North Yorkshire Moors, just as the first leaves were beginning to fall.
Hedge Drops are elusive creatures, usually appearing around hedgerows, woodland edges and other slightly overgrown places. Their mottled colouring makes them particularly difficult to spot amongst bramble, heather and fallen leaves.
This particular Hedge Drop is soft and scruffy, with shades of mossy green, smoky purple, rust, pink and grey, finished with a lilac silk ribbon and tiny bell.
Temperament
Quietly curious, independent and rather fond of wandering.
Drawn to humans who
Feel most themselves outdoors, notice small things other people walk past, and aren’t particularly interested in following the usual path.
Known for
Encouraging curiosity, small adventures and the occasional change of direction.
Likes
Autumn arriving early, old hedgerows, feathers, interesting stones, pockets full of tiny treasures and being allowed to choose the path at a crossroads.
Dislikes
Overly tidy gardens, being hurried, unnecessary lawn mowing and Disney.
