Make a Ghost Drop

Some Drops appear in the woods with two little feet, however round Halloween, you might spot one drifting past without any feet at all.

Ghost Drops uses the original Drops knitting pattern for the head, body, face and arms.

This is a free adaptation for anyone who already has that pattern; it is not a complete pattern on its own. If you’re new to Drops, you can find the original pattern here

I made my Ghost Drop with one strand of off-white Drops Alpaca Bouclé on 3.5 mm needles. It gives him a soft, fluffy look, but you can use another suitable yarn.

Follow your Drops pattern up to and including Round 50. You should have 40 stitches.

Then stop. Do not work the inner leg split or the feet!

Continue in the round with the ghost tail below.

Stuff the body before the opening becomes too small, leaving the very tip lightly stuffed so it stays soft. You can add a stitch to make it bend slightly to one side if you like. I haven’t with mine I have just strategically stuffed it so it goes slightly wonky.

Cut the yarn with a tail, thread it through the remaining four stitches and pull closed.

Make and attach the arms, then add the face using your original Drops pattern. And there he is, same little Drops, but make it spooky!!

Happy Autumn 👻🍂🍁
